By now most have heard that the Vatican decreed that Our Lady of the Atonement Parish and Academy are now part of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter thereby ending a time of great anguish for many.
I rejoice for Fr Phillips, his family, the Parish, the Poor Clare Nuns, the Academy, and for all who love and call Our Lady of the Atonement Parish home. The swift resolution of this matter is something I have never seen before, and I can only imagine that Cardinal Mueller and Bishop Lopes are greatly to be thanked for this happy time both for the Parish of Our Lady of the Atonement in San Antonio and the Ordinariate in North America.
When first hearing of the news it seemed extraordinarily clear that this was all the benevolent work of St. Joseph, the patron of the Catholic Church, who took the Parish, its clergy, people, the Nuns, the Academy, all underneath his Holy Cloak and lead them to that safe place the Lord had prepared for them.
So I offer for consideration that it is St. Joseph who deserves our collective Merci for this outpouring of Divine Mercy.
Divine Child Jesus, we praise thee, worship thee, and adore thee.
Our Lady of the Atonement, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, terror of demons, pray for us.
