This hymn is often associated with Remembrance Day and other such memorials of national life. It strikes me as a wonderful hymn to sing at any time especially when it seems that the foundations of the world we know have been shaken and the future appears uncertain. At such a time we do well to remind ourselves that the world is the Lord's, the Church is the Lord's, and we and all our times are the Lord's.
