Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos

Dear friends and readers,

After years of illness and being largely confined to bed, I have received a miraculous healing through the intercession of Blessed Father Francis Xavier Seelos, C.Ss.R. of New Orleans.  

I was not able to walk on my own and had to use a rollator, walker, wheelchair, or walking sticks/canes.  After being prayed for at the Shrine of Blessed Seelos in New Orleans I no longer needed any assistance either from such mechanisms or from others in order to walk about.  I can even run and dance now.  Those who know me know what a total miracle this is.

As for those who need evidence, before my healing my EEG was always abnormal and a source of alarm.  Now my EEG is normal.

I praise the Lord for my healing, a healing which has been granted for a purpose.  First, I hope to promote the cause of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos and to encourage everyone to make of him their friend in Heaven.  I also encourage the sick and suffering to ask for the intercession of Blessed Seelos for I have found him to be a most happy saint eager to help all those in need.

Now mind you, he is not yet a saint, and I do not know if my results can qualify for the sort of miracle for which they are seeking in order to raise him to the altar as a Saint with a capital "S".  But regardless of his official status there is no doubt in my mind or heart that he is truly a great saint of God and a continuing witness of the Lord Jesus Christ preaching to all of the Lord Jesus through these miraculous healings and favours received.

It happens when, once and again in these long aeons of the world's existence, God expresses His will more directly, by suspending for a moment, at one tiny pin-point of space, the operation of those laws which could have no force and no validity but from Him. Just in the millionth instance God does, without the aid of secondary causes, what He is continually doing by means of secondary causes. Just in the millionth instance He multiplies bread instead of multiplying the wheat. Just in the millionth instance He will have the dew form not everywhere but just here. Is that so much of a privilege to claim for the Omnipotent? Is that impossible with God, with such a God?"

At a Wedding Feast in Cana

At a wedding feast in Cana
Jesus, Mary, and their friends
joined to celebrate a marriage-
covenant which on Love depends.
And the party it went on
till the bowls of wine were gone.
Mary nudged her Son Christ Jesus,
urged him to step up and please us.

"Dearest woman, let's have no show.
You know well it's not my time."
Mary smiled and told the servants,
"Follow all his words sublime.
Do whatever he may say.
It's the way he'll save the day."
And the servants did her bidding
and to Jesus all were listening.

Jesus guided all their actions
and turned water into wine.
How amazing this great wonder
his first miracle and sign!
It was not to raise the dead
or to heal as it is said,
but to keep a party going --
this his first and wondrous showing.

Let us hearken then to Mary
and do all that Christ shall say.
Heal the sick and feed the hungry,
love the living of each day.
Walk on water when we must,
make disciples of the lost.
Raise the dead and banish demons.
Preach and teach through all the seasons.

Praise and worship to the Father
Laud and glory to the Son,
For the Holy Spirit muster
songs of joy on every tongue.
With Our Lady walk the way
leading to Christ's glorious day
when the faithful rise to meet him
and rejoicing we will greet him!
