Swords and Staves

........O GOD, who didst allow the swords and staves
........of armed men to oppose the pure majesty
........of the Prince of peace: Grant us his disciples
........to fear no threatenings of force nor assaults
........of evil, but to stand immovable in the might
........of thy Spirit and the testimony of faith;
........through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
